South American stork spotted in Louisiana

This photo released by the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries shows a jabiru stork, with its blocky, slightly upturned black beak, among a flock of wood storks, egrets and ibis near Maringouin, La.

Amazing! I hope to see it too! I love and have studied the ivory billed woodpecker. I am always keeping an eye open for it, now I can watch out for our new visitor.

Wonder what happen to our guest? It is horrible what Hurricane Gustav has done to our Louisiana Paradise. Just like Andrew did. Did anybody take the time to watch the wildlife before the storm? Did you notice any unusual behavior?
