Police are warning people to stay away from open water after an eight-year-old boy was left in a critical condition after falling into a river in Braithwaite, near Keighley The incident happened at Tinker Bridge around 11.30am on Sunday, July 27, when the youngster was playing with friends.

A former Staples High School math teacher and swim coach faces eight years in prison and a lifetime on a sex offender registry after pleading guilty in Bridgeport Superior Court today to sexually assaulting two girls - who are now 12 and 9 - over a three-year period, the Connecticut Post reported.
