Wintry weather forces school board to reschedule meeting
Since Kamiak High School opened in 1994, Jim Geiger never missed a baseball game or a practice. The volunteer coach accepted only a hat each year for payment.
If a student athlete had financial difficulties - such as obtaining insurance, glove, shoes or other needs - Geiger made sure he was taken care of.
It's no surprise, then, that the Mukilteo board of directors is expected tonight to approve a proposal to name Kamiak's ball field after Geiger, who passed away on Dec. 19, 2007. He was 57. Read more
