So what now for Big Pete?
As we bask in the euphoria of Thibaut Courtois securing his long term Chelsea future yesterday by putting pen to paper on a new five-year deal, and as the glasses keep being clinked in ecstacy of what's potentially to come, another decade of dominance and royal blueness, the cynic in me can't help but pester with the following nagging question: what now for Petr Cech as young Courtois has apparently 'Thibauted' him off his perch for good? Will the 32-year-old Chelsea legend stay put and fight for his chance or perhaps just accept the No.2 position which I reckon he'll be handed on a platter while everyone goes home to sleep in peace, satisfied quiet and tranquillity? Won't he feel scorned? Should he stay, draw his pension, as it were, and keep his successor on his toes as should ideally be the case?
