Lyon signed the Argentine defender from Nice in the off-season until 2016 but the 25-year-old Monzon has failed to settle into the team, starting only two league games.

Lyon and Nice swap Pied and Monzon

Argentina defender Fabian Monzon has joined Olympique Lyon from fellow Ligue 1 side Nice while Jeremy Pied has moved in the opposite direction, the Cote d'Azur club said on Sunday.
