The River Valley volleyball team won all three of its matches last week but the Lady Raiders couldn't keep the streak going, and RVHS dropped three straight games to non-conference guest Southeastern, Monday night in Gallia County. The Lady Panthers jumped out to a seven point lead early in the opening game, but River Valley rallied back to within two at 13-15.

Assemblyman John Perez won't run against L.A. Councilman Jose Huizar

Assemblyman John A. Prez has decided not to challenge Los Angeles City Councilman Jose Huizar in the March election, his political strategist said Monday. Campaign consultant Douglas Herman said Prez, who spent nearly four years as Assembly speaker, made the decision despite receiving "overwhelming requests from residents, from the community" for him to seek Huizar's seat.
