The winds of unity are blowing in the Northern Somali territories. Since the fall of the Siad Barre's regime, there have been two fighting ideologies in the territory that was known as British Somaliland.

In November 2010 a dispute over building water-reservoirs at Kalshaale hamlet in Togdheer region in northern Somalia developed into clashes between two sub-clans from two clans living in the area.

Ten men, believed to be Al Shabaab fighters, were apprehended overnight in Burco town in the Togdher region of Somaliland in northern Somalia.
