From Hafizah Kamaruddin MAKKAH, Sept 10 -- Tabung Haji 's more than five decades experience in handling haj pilgrims has attracted the interest of Pakistan's pilgrims affairs office here. Director-General of the Pakistan's Counsel General office based in Jeddah, Syed Abu Ahmed Akif said Pakistan would like to emaluate the system that had been implemented by TH in managing the Malaysian haj pilgrims.

Saudi Arabia denies Haj direct flights from Israel

The General Authority of Civil Aviation has denied reports that its airports would handle direct flights from Israel this Haj season. GACA Spokesman Khaled Al-Khaibari said there would be no direct flights from Occupied Palestine to Saudi airports carrying Haj pilgrims from the occupied territories.

Health Is Top Priority When Pilgrims Perform Haj - TH

From Hafizah Kamaruddin MAKKAH, Sept 7 -- Tabung Haji's top most priority and concern when Haj pilgrims arrive here is their health, said its Operations Director in Makkah, Redhuan Sabaruddin. Redhuan said it was important to ensure Haj pilgrims were in good health when they arrived from Malaysia, so that they can perform the Haj without any hindrance, especially the 'Wukuf' in Arafah on which is expected to fall on Oct 3. "Pilgrims must ensure they performed their prayers at Masjidilharam to their best ability because the main focus is to carry out the Haj and for that, health plays an important role," Redhuan who is also the Haj Consul in Saudi Arabia, based in Jeddah, told Malaysian reporters, here Saturday.

9 operators allowed to take 1,200 Haj pilgrims from Qatar

DOHA: Only nine of the 30 licensed Haj operators are in business this year as the Saudi authorities have slashed Qatar's quota of pilgrims to 1,200. Haj quotas have been reduced for all countries around the world as hectic development work is going on in the holy Haram area so the usual number of pilgrims cannot be accommodated.

Intending pilgrim slumps, dies in Ogun

An intending pilgrim, Mrs. Silifat Ajinni, slumped and died on Thursday, in Abeokuta, Ogun State, during a seminar for those travelling to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, for the forthcoming hajj. The General Presidency of the Two Holy mosques has denied reports of plans to destroy the tomb of the Prophet Mohammed in Madinah, Al-Jazirah newspaper reported Thursday.
