In a bid to retain his position, Whitehall Township Executive Dan McNeill has built a campaign coffer about four times bigger than his two opponents combined, and his contributions include $10,000 from two developers with projects in the township.

McNeill, who is not on the ballot and is waging a write-in campaign, has raised more than $26,000 to add to the $15,700 he started the year with, according to campaign finance reports filed with the Lehigh County Board of Elections.

Among those who have contributed are Barry G. Newman, founder and member of the Newman Development Group of Vestal, N.Y., which has built a $20 million Lowe's store scheduled to open Thursday on MacArthur Road. Read more
