On Thursday, all you had to do was drive a few miles.

While Tarrant and Dallas counties dealt with high winds and an elevated fire threat, other parts of the state had to contend with far more serious weather.

In the Panhandle, winter was back in full force.

A 40-car pileup during a pre-dawn snowstorm left at least three dead along Interstate 40.

The slick roads also caused a firetruck approaching the accident to roll over, injuring one firefighter. Read more
