We're continuing our investigation, especially into two Scientology schools and a million dollar fundraising campaign kept secret, until now.

The Yarralinda school in the Melbourne suburb of Mooroolbark looks lovely. And has nothing to do with the church of Scientology, or does it?

"The Commonwealth has a lot of skin in the game. They're giving our money to those schools to the tune of $1.4 million over the next four years. That's a lot of money, that buys a stake in what's going on in those schools," said New South Wales Greens MP Dr John Kaye.

The Yarralinda school in Melbourne and The Athena school in the Sydney suburb of Glebe both employ the so-called teaching technology developed by Scientology founder L Ron Hubbard called 'Applied Scholastics' or 'Study Tech'.

"There's no scientific evidence that applied scholastics works, there's no scientific evidence that it's been tested, that there are controlled studies that show that this teaching actually does produce outcomes," Dr Kaye said.

More claims against Scientology - Today Tonight Australia

The Church of Scientology's musical endeavours might be laughable yet the current storm of accusations against them is deadly serious.

Greens leader Bob Brown has also joined the campaign for a full Senate inquiry into Scientology.

"It raises questions about techniques being used, methodologies being used by a cult like this to put people in a position which is untenable," he said.

Brother wants answers on Scientologist's suicide - ABC News

A man whose Scientologist brother committed suicide has urged Prime Minister Kevin Rudd to allow a parliamentary inquiry into the controversial church.

His brother, Stephen McBride, last night flew from Perth to Canberra to urge Mr Rudd to support Independent Senator Nick Xenophon's motion for an inquiry into the church's tax-free status.

"It's hard to describe the anger that my family and myself feels about the church's conduct before and after my brother's death," he said.

"The Church of Scientology gained $25,000 from my brother, but Edward lost his life. This organisation needs to be investigated by the police and by the Parliament.

"I believe the bombardment of 19 telephone messages backed him into a corner and he just had no room to breathe. I think the secrecy of the religion, organisation, cult - whatever you may call it - it needs to be open and disclosed.

"There's something just not right about it. Please don't let my brother's death just be in vain."
