2 Amish children injured when pickup hits buggy

Authorities say two young Amish children are hospitalized after the buggy they were riding in was hit by a pickup truck on a western New York road. The Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Office tells Time Warner Cable News in Buffalo that the pickup hit the buggy from behind around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday as it traveled on Route 62 in the rural town of Leon, 40 miles south of Buffalo.

We spent a good chunk of the day on the roads: rural, scenic and hilly roads through Amish territory. And we kept seeing this couple, from California, who are in their 80s, and are riding the entire Ohio to Erie Trail.

Becker County: Pickup rear-ends Amish buggy

A pickup truck rear-ended an Amish buggy in northwest Minnesota late last week, but resulted in no serious injuries. The accident happened about 7:30 p.m. Thursday near the village of Evergreen, 10 miles east of Frazee in Becker County.
