Evesham Council unanimously voted to fine mortgage companies and tax lien holders $1,500 a day for failure to maintain their property, according to the Courier Post. The new legislation is of particular interest to those in Moorestown, where council has discussed the issue of vacant homes for three consecutive meetings. Comment?

Drivers could get the option to use their smartphone to show their driver's license, instead of a paper license, under a bill to be proposed by State Senator Thomas Kean Jr. to have state motor vehicle officials study it. It's appropriate to look at it and see if it protects drivers security, adds to convenience and enhanced efficiency," Senator Thomas Kean Jr. A state senator is set to propose legislation directing the state Motor Vehicle Commission to conduct a study on whether New Jersey should give drivers the option to show a license on their smartphone. While overall foreclosure activity overall continued its now years-long decline from housing crisis peaks there was a significant year-over-year increase in foreclosure starts. RealtyTrac says in its November U.S. Foreclosure Market Report that 55,906 properties started the foreclosure process during the month, a decrease of 1 percent from October but a 6 percent increase from a year ago. Homeless after Superstorm Sandy flooded the Ortley Beach condominium she was renting, Tango, 61, relied on assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency to pay her rent and living expenses at an apartment she rented in Howell.
