A federal judge in Boston dismissed Attorney General Martha Coakley's lawsuit against Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac that recently became an issue in race for governor over questions about Coakley's political ties to a potential beneficiary of the legal action. The lawsuit accused the federal lending agencies, along with the Federal Housing Finance Agency, of failing to comply with a state law that allows non-profits to buy and refinance homes in foreclosure so they can be sold back to their original owners.
