I am a believer in dreams, and when I had a waking dream a few days after the S&P downgrade of our national debt of President Obama packing his bags and leaving the White House, I was saddened for him and for my country. Of the homes bought between July 2013 and June 2014, 28 percent were new homes, a 1 percent decline from the prior 12 months, according to the report released by the Texas Association of Realtors. Thomas on Wednesday was sentenced to 17 years in prison on charges of conspiracy, arson, fraud and lying to federal investigators in connection with the pair of arsons fires he and three co-defendants set in 2007 and 2009. In the first arson, Thomas had someone set fire to a Central City duplex he owned, but wound up netting no profit after his insurance payout -- though a pair of co-defendants used bogus leases they signed with Thomas to collect tidy sums on sham renter's insurance claims.
