Why can't there be roads that are for bikes only? Certain roads could be designated bikes only except for local traffic.
For example, SE Ankeny parallels E.Burnside. Eliminate the bikes on Burnside and allow the bikes on Ankeny to travel without auto traffic. The area where this 'accident' occured has many side streets where a bike route could be layed out. Just a suggestion. |
