Swim Club President Apologizes

We were all taught as children that we're all the same on the inside.......just like all puppies are cute - then they grow up to be dogs.

The swim club should not have leased it's pool facilities out to non-members or outside groups. That was their biggest mistake. Just like when a fire company or VFW leases out it's hall to a private party or event then finds out later they leased it to a bunch of hip-hop artists and the 'patrons' trash the place and bring booze to the same. They refunded the money and admited their mistake and learned a lesson I hope. People pay big money to belong to a private swim club as I already do. If my swim club started leasing out the facilities to non members on days when I wanted to use it and I went and found the place over-run with offensive people I'd cancel my membership.

Too little to late! The insensitive fool is only speaking out because of media and political and social PRESSURES!!! The coward has NO HONOR, and is a poor businessman.

He MEANT exactly what he said, and NOW, he wants to change his story!! The day camps needs a legal team like "Boston Legal's Alan Shore, to bring this nut to his knees!!

The ONLY way that a "private club" can be "private" is if they use THEIR OWN FUNDS!! If they use any "STATE" funding, they are not PRIVATE, and have NO RIGHT to refuse ANYONE!!

Giving back money, and issuing a bullschitt apology DOESN'T make the day camp WHOLE, and it DOESN'T heal the scars and wounds, inflicted upon these innocent children!!!

The fool ADMITTED that he used a poor choice of words, which were very incidient, and hurtful to the children, and the adult members of the "swim club" acted equally incedient, and hateful, by ordering there children out of the pool, and accusing children of wrongdoing!!

This is why the U.S. is in the position it is in today, because of ignorant parents and adults, who believe that they own something.

This is on the same level as foolish parents starting fights on baseball, football, and other sports teams, because they believe that their children have been slighted in some way!!

True but remember that some puppies grow up to be AKC Best of Show pets and many others become mutts fit to knock over garbage cans and guard auto junkyards.

You show that you are a moron by commenting on a "story" when you don't know the background or that this is still DISCRIMINATION! There were members that told the reporters that the kids were well behaved. You probably are a member of the kluless klucking klann. This club accepted $ for the "rental" and knew how many people were going to be there. Any club that accepts $ for any type of rental is considered a "public" facility. Unfortunately, it's much easier to RE-train a dog than it is a human once they've been allowed to run rampant with no "rules" their entire lives.

The day care should have divided the group of 65 into 2-3 smaller groups that were easier to keep an eye on, and the pool should have limited the number of campers allowed at any given time.

The "swim club" knew or should have known the scheduling, and capacity of the pool, what the pool could handle, and what it could not handle, how much "safety personnel" they had for crowd control!! The swim club was completely responsible, for who they let enter into the club.

The club's motivation for this was M-O-N-E-Y!! And when it didn't work out how they planned, they tried to sweep it all under the carpet, and refund the day camp their money back!! This was a bait, then switch issue!! They should be punished, because they waived thier own rules!!! It was the adults/parents of the swim club who caused the problem, and made their children follow them, by getting out of the pool!!!

It is HYPOCRITICAL, IGNORANT, and RACIST!!! With this one issue, the U.S., has returned to the 1930's and 1940's!!! YOU, are WOEFULLY OUT OF TOUCH, and your DISGRACEFUL POST PROVES IT!!!

There seems to have been so many options here, but for one, this manager had to have some idea about capacity and the number of children that were paid for to use the pool. He should have considered safety issues then. He should also have had consideration for the pool members--truthfully, it is a small private pool and no one was expecting all that company to arrive. The remarks added to the out-of-control situation and caused a real stir. If the pool was "for rent" it should have been closed to everyone but the renters. A solution may have been to open a little earlier for the guests and an hour or two later for the regular membership so that they could swim for a few hours without causing problems.

You all seem to be a bit sad on here with your comments white, black or whatever. Unfortunatly not everyone is going to be accepting of others as this is a fact of life. Discrimination, bigotry and racism has been part of many persons lives across the globe. The racist and bigots will never go away but, people can teach their children to not hate white, black or what ever your ethnicity is. I have met in my lifetime the same amount of racist whites as I have met racist blacks and I have never understood it since this was not allowed in the home I grew up in. The truth is it all begins with the parents and hate for what ever reason starts at home. So, this will go on and on unless all people stop teaching hatred to their children. But, I don't see it going away so the answer you need to rise above it because subjecting yourself to hate in any way or form will bring you down so people make choices in life white or black. I have met many wonderful people from all cultures and have had this misfortune to have met many people that were as racist as can be white and black. But, in this situation I would not give these people from this private club my money if this is based on racism why, give your hard earned money to these people. I educate myself as much as possible to learn about companies, businesses, organizations and if you have any hint of discrimination you don't get a dime out of me. I am not going to pay people or try to force people to like me but, I will not fund their lives with my hard earned money. Time to think smarter and become a more educated society. You can make a choice to be a victim or not, to not let hate in you life or to let hate in. I made a choice to not let hate in my life and I avoid it as much as possible. Let these people have their little pool but, don't let them have your money or let them teach your children to feel hate.

The same goes for bus stops, especially in white neighborhoods where Black kids attend public schools!!! Aren't whites regularly attacked, robbed, raped, and/or murdered by Blacks?

When he came to the U.S., he worked in factories alongside Blacks and cheered on the civil rights struggle. He made a decent living for himself, my Mom, my Sister, & me while fighting the ghosts of his past. Still he put both of us through private schools after coming to the U.S. after the war with nothing. He became disillusioned with "Y'All" after seeing the careless and carefree attitude tnat many of you have about life - like you are owed something. You're FREE. Make something of yourselves without the benefit of affirmative action that none of "US" of my ethnicity ever had, yet we were treated like dregs - sometimes worse than Blacks and by Blacks - because of our surnames and the fact that so many of my parents' generation with similar names and accents were post-World War II DISPLACED PERSONS - DPs - in other words - REFUGEES.

I am active in my community and it isn't just people of color doing some things wrong. People of the caucasian persuasion are caught all the time doing the wrong thing. Relative worked for the welfare department and the overwhelming number of people applying are white! so you go talk to the kluckers and tell them to fix their reps along with your own.

Regarding the "caucasian persuasion" comment, know this: most Whites have nothing to do with the Caucasus Mountains and we prefer to be called European Americans or Euro-Americans.
