Typhoon Kalmaegi Slams Northern Philippines

A strong typhoon swept across northern Philippines overnight, cutting power and communication lines and sending thousands fleeing to higher ground. The capital, Manila, was not spared, as heavy rains from Typhoon Kalmaegi flooded this riverside community of Marikina.
