Looking down the barrel of a big one. Bahala na! As for me, I filled the tank, bought extra batteries, checked the generator, stocked some canned goods, cleaned the coolers and bought two cases of San Mig Lite. Now that is preparation!!

D Truth,

Im all ready here stocked up on everything. This Typhoon is worse tan Katrina, winds to 200mph. Trying to get a track. The latest said it was 620 miles east southeast of Manila moving west northwest. Now that is the reciprocal which says its heading towards Manila.

Overlay weather on google earth and its a monster.

Frodo, I am in north central Luzon and it looks like we may be in for a rough ride. Basically untouched with the last one. Cebu will still be there, don't worry.

Don, I was on duty during Hugo and that was a night I will never forget. This one indeed does look bad. Still hearing how bad Cosme was last year. Eh, that was a mild category 1. This one may decrease in strength a little over land but it still may be a strong 3 when it reaches the west side of Luzon. Charlotte had significant damage following Hugo. 175 miles inland so that one did not weaken much. We will just hold on and hope our house can take a pounding.....

You guys need to get out of there. if you are in the path you may not survive this. Imagine 130 mile per hour wind hitting the house. will it take it? not likely. No house can take that. if you are in the zone get out now. Good luck. hope you aren't keeping a family in line with this.

Steve, getting out of here is much easier than done. The island of Luzon is approximately the size of Kentucky with a population of forty seven million plus and with fewer miles of good highways than Kentucky. Think my house can stand sustained of 75 to 85 and some gusts to perhaps 110. Beyond that, just have to wait and see and as they say "Hang on to your hat!!"

Steve,

Cant leave like D Truth said. its not good to leave your house alone. Repairs can be done, quick fixes while the storm is here that can save all our valuables.

RDT,

No place to run to. The typhoon can change course and run over the place you ran to. I know some in Isabella run to San Fernando, guess what, now its going to run over San Fernando.

In Okinawa a super typhoon came straight at us, got 100 miles from us, stopped and backed up went back out to sea.

I arrived here Saturday to MNL in the middle of typhoon, the trip from the airport took me 6 hours and only came to Malate and had to stay overnight there. The next day I could get to my destination: Rockwell / Makati.
Much fear the next SUPER-typhoon which will hit Manila in the morning.
This is somewhat unusually for a Dane.
Can only hope for the best !!!

better yet board it up with wood then leave your house bring your valuables to a safe place , appliances to the second floor if you have one. practically leave nothing in the ground floor. stock up on biscuits, batteries , emergency light. drive to the western side of luzon where the damage would be lesser. goodluck guys! hope that everyone will be spared.

Hi Vic. Welcome to the philippines again.
Unfortunately, weather is crazy here. Be safe and stay in your hotel during the weekends.

Please god. I pray that the typhoon will reduce its strength once it reach land. There are still a lot of people displace by the previous typhoon. Many are tired, worn out and cold last time. Many lost their property and some love ones. Enough devastation has been incurred. Take care everyone. Be safe. Pray and be prepared. God bless us all.

The wind is picking up slightly but I expect it will become rather rough as the night goes on and into the morning. Hopefully everyone has prepared as best as they can. A storm this strong can be very dangerous.

Daily Horoscope for December 8

Libra

Get organized because that's the best way to be productive today. You're eager to be as efficient and practical as possible, but you won't get very far if you don't know what to do first. So draw up a list of priorities and start with the most urgent. Ideally, you should be left to your own devices while you do all this because that will aid your concentration and self-confidence.
