Cold forces turtle rescuers to head south
Chilly ocean water off the Georgia coast this week forced folks at the Georgia Sea Turtle Center on Jekyll Island to make a trip south this week with two young loggerhead turtles.
Those glossy, colorful tourism brochures lining the racks of local visitors centers and welcome kiosks and touting the beauty of Cocoa Beach's beaches or the Canaveral National Seashore wouldn't be possible without grants from the Brevard County Tourism Development Council.

Sheriff's helicopter lights way for lost kayakers
Two kayakers lost in the Canaveral National Seashore were located Sunday night and guided to Edgewater by a sheriff's helicopter spotlight, a coast guard officer said.
