Iowa waterfowl seasons approved

The Natural Resource Commission of the Iowa Department of Natural Resources approved the 2014-14 migratory game bird hunting seasons during its monthly meeting Aug. 14. In the north zone: the seasons for ducks, coots and mergansers is Oct. 4-19 and Oct. 25 through Dec. 7; the youth waterfowl season is Sept.

DNR Announces New Boating Regulations for Deal Island For Hunting Season

The use of motorized boats, except those powered by electric motors, will again be prohibited at the Deal Island and Fairmount Wildlife Management Area impoundments this hunting season, October 1 through March 31. DNR established the regulation last year to make these areas more appealing to birds, thus creating a better hunting area.
