    Alfred DelBello, former N.Y. lt. governor, dies at 80

    Alfred B. DelBello , who rose from the Yonkers, N.Y., city council to become New York's lieutenant governor under Gov. Mario Cuomo , died Friday of complications from a fall in April. He was 80. After becoming mayor of Yonkers in 1970, DelBello would be elected as Westchester County executive, serving from 1974 to 1982 as the first Democrat to hold the post.

    The Westchester County Association recalled Al DelBello as a friend and one of Westchester County's business leaders in a tribute on Monday. DelBello , a Lewisboro resident who served as mayor of Yonkers, Westchester county executive and lieutenant governor died on Friday.

    Family confirmed that former Lieutenant Governor Alfred Delbello has died at the age of 80. According to his wife, Delbello died Friday. Democratic Delbello held several political positions throughout his career including mayor of Yonkers and Westchester County executive.

    Michael R. Hetcher

    Michael "Ricky" Hetcher, Sr., a 31 year resident of the area and retired child care counselor, died after a short illness at Kindred Hospital in Wayne, NJ. The son of the late Michael and Rita Phelan Hetcher, he was born on November 29, 1942 in Yonkers, N.Y. While he was christened Michael, many of his friends and family called him Ricky.

    He graduated from Sacred Heart High School and served in the Army during the Korean War. After his service, he joined Local 1 Elevators Union, becoming a member for 43 years and working on the construction of the World Trade Center.

    Salvatore F. Campoli, a resident of Ardsley and a former resident of Yonkers, died on April 26. He was 82. His family moved to Yonkers in 1936 and he graduated from Saunders Trade and Technical High School. He served in the Army National Guard as a sergeant during the Korean War.

    Westchester Man Killed In Accident At Hotel Construc...

    Trevor Loftus, a 40-year-old Yonkers resident, was killed around noontime Friday in an accident at a construction site in Manhattan, according to multiple reports. Loftus, the construction safety coordinator for a project at a 35-story hotel at 219 E. 44th Street, suffered the fatal injury while unloading material from a truck when it appeared he was crushed after the arm of a hydraulic system of a truck-mounted device failed, according to The New York Times.
