    Charles McDevitt

    Charles Thomas "Tom" McDevitt was born in Wheeling, W.Va., on Nov. 12, 1941, to Charles "Chuck" and Edna McDevitt. He died of metastatic cancer on March 19. He was raised in Ohio and graduated from Jewett High School in 1959 at 17, and headed for the U.S. Marine Corps.

    East Wheeling Dog May Have Attacked Before

    The dog that attacked and possibly killed Rory Higginbotham Jr. on Sunday at an East Wheeling residence may have been involved in a previous attack, Deputy Police Chief Martin Kimball said. "We are looking into whether it was involved in an attack of a pedestrian in the same neighborhood a couple of weeks ago when a female victim was bitten on the leg and required medical treatment," Kimball said.

    Police Sorting Out Fatal Dog Attack in East Wheeling

    Police have released the names of two men who died Sunday in Wheeling - one from an apparent heart attack, the second from being attacked by a dog as he tried to save the first man. Chief Shawn Schwertfeger identified the men as David Wallace, 63, and Roy Higgenbotham Jr., 62, both of Wheeling.
