    Fallen Firefighter Mourned

    Family and friends of McMechen volunteer firefighter Garry Rose gathered Monday evening to bid their friend farewell, as emergency services workers from the area came by to pay their respects. Rose, 67, was honored with a fireman's service administered by his fellow firefighters, and attended by his fellows from Glen Dale, Moundsville, Benwood, Wheeling and Bridgeport, who shared their grief and memories of Rose, who passed away Friday while helping a patient to the hospital.

    Services Planned For Fallen Firefighter

    Funeral services will be held Tuesday for Garry Rose, a McMechen volunteer firefighter who died Friday while transporting a patient to Ohio Valley Medical Center in Wheeling. Rose, 67, was wheeling a patient into OVMC's emergency room when he collapsed and could not be revived.
