    Ruth Southerland Justice

    A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Annie Mae Burgess McClure. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, James Perry Southerland Sr., who died in 1964; son, Walter Southerland; two grandsons, Jody and Steven Southerland; and half brother, James Southerland Jr. She retired from Lea Industries after 20 years of employment and was a proud member of Fellowship Baptist Church.

    Rebecca Hope Atkins Wiley, 54, passed away on Jan. 16, 2015, at UNC Health-NC Memorial Hospital after a long battle against leukemia. Rebecca was born in Bennettsville, South Carolina on Oct. 1, 1960, to the late Lawrence and Betty Atkins, but had resided in Waynesville since her early teens.
