Hilda is survived by one daughter, Christy Mehaffey ; two sons, Johnny Mac Russell and Chuck Russell ; son-in-law, Neal McElroy, all of Waynesville; two sisters, Wilma Ray, of Lake Junaluska, and Brenda Davis , of Clyde,; and four grandchildren, Elijah Mehaffey, Jessica McElroy and Timothy and Rhiannon Russell.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Frankie Woody Ledbetter, who died in 1997; three brothers, Mack, Horace and Samuel Thurman Ledbetter; sister, Pearl Clark; and son, Sammy Ledbetter, who died in 2004.

    A native of Haywood County, born May 7, 1939, he was the son of the late Frank Kennedy Tucker and Mary C. Shelton Tucker-Moody; He was also preceded by his brothers, Davis Roe Tucker and Frank Kenneth Tucker. He worked in the funeral service for over 50 years, beginning his career in Canton at Crawford Funeral Home where he served his apprenticeship and returned after graduation in 1965 from the Kentucky School of Mortuary Science.
