    Martha Louise Long Golden, a long-time Fayette resident, died Friday, Jan. 23, 2015, at the Peggy Kelly House in Topeka, Kansas, her home since 2005. She was 95. Mrs. Golden was born June 23, 1919 on a farm in Howard County, a daughter of Amos Guy and Lottie Opal Long.

    Homicide latest in string of Seaman tragedies

    News of Monday night's shooting death of 18-year-old Colton Christenson in central Topeka rippled through the Seaman High School community via social media. Though he no longer attended Seaman, having graduated in May 2014, many current students and teachers knew him and were stunned by news of his death as classes resumed Tuesday after winter break.
