    Hector Tobias was part of a golden age of variety bands

    Singer-songwriter and guitarist Hector Tobias -- with beloved bands like the Tobias Brothers, Road Apple, the Godfathers and the Warlock Band - is counted among the musicians that helped define a golden age when horn-driven show bands dominated the scene in San Antonio in the 1970s and 1980s. It was a time when musicians in tuxedos worked almost every night at hotels and bars like Olly's, Oak Hill Motor Inn, the Recovery Room and the Holiday Inn.
