    Bettie L. Herring

    Bettie was born Feb. 9, 1923, in Hardin, to Basil W. and Lula Gibson, Sr. She married Will T. Herring of Carroll County, Nov. 11, 1945; he preceded her in death July 2, 2005. Survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Danny and Janice Herring, of Hardin, and Terry and Nancy Herring, of Hardin; one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Tony McGinnis, of Nixa; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Wayne and Omar Herring, Michele Thompson and her husband, Roy, T.J. McGinnis, Eric McGinnis, Kari Huff and her husband, Steve, Tara Herring and Christopher Herring; and five great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Layton and Troy Doss and Devon and Kalie Huff.

    Memorial Day a perfect time to honor our loved ones

    We used real flowers because her mother always told her that she didn't want plastic flowers on her grave. My grandmother had a yard full of pretty flowers, but it takes a lot of flowers to decorate 10 graves.
