    Erickson bleachers named for Eschbacher

    The Wood County Board of Education voted Tuesday to name the bleachers at the Erickson All-Sports Facility after the late Tom Eschbacher, principal of Parkersburg South High School who passed away last summer. The board waived a Wood County rule which states that people must not be associated with county schools for two years prior to having something named for them.

    William "Willie" Holbert, age 91, of Alliance, passed away at 3 a.m. Thursday, March 19, 2015, at Green Meadows Health and Wellness Center in Louisville. He was born April 24, 1923, in Parkersburg, West Virginia, to Robert and Ruth Holbert and has lived in the Alliance area since 1925.
