Norwich – An idea that first surfaced during the city's 350th anniversary celebration in 2009 and gained momentum last fall to create a public park and city recognition for African American artist Ellis Ruley appears to be getting off the ground. The City Council on Monday introduced a resolution to recognize a three-member committee that has been meeting since January to work on the effort to turn the city-owned former Ruley home property at 28 Hammond Ave. into a public park. Norwich - The McDonald Family Benefit will be held Saturday for the family of Jennifer McDonald, the late wife of Norwich Police Officer Greg McDonald . Jennifer McDonald was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2008 and after numerous treatments and surgeries found out on March 16 that her cancer was back and aggressive. Comment?

Francis A. Liszewski, a retired priest of the Diocese of Norwich, died on Monday, April 20, 2015, at St. Mary Home. Fr. Frank was born on Oct. 3, 1942, in Hartford, the son of the late Bruno and Marie Liszewski. Comment?
