    Rios sentenced to 14 years for manslaughter in death...

    A New London judge sentenced Michael A. Rios to 14 years in prison this morning for shaking to death his girlfriend's 13-month-old daughter, Madison Alexa Reid, on May 2, 2013. The victim's family members, many of them dressed in neon pink t-shirts that said "Madison Matters," held up photographs depicting the bubbly child's short life during an emotional sentencing hearing in Superior Court.

    Law enforcement personnel from across the state will come together today at The Cathedral of St. Patrick on Broadway for the 24th Annual Blue Mass. Sponsored by the Diocese of Norwich, the service begins at 10:15 a.m. and is typically preceded by a procession on Broadway.

    Ralph DeNicolo, Longtime Golf Pro At Manchester Coun...

    Ralph DeNicolo, the longtime golf pro and director of golf at the Manchester Country Club, died July 25. He was 70. DeNicolo was born in Revere, Mass., and later he and his family moved to the Taftville neighborhood of Norwich, where he graduated from Norwich Free Academy. His interest in golf began when he was a teenager.
