Cheryl Delikat, supervisor of Jersey City Medical Center EMS Hudson County Communications Emergency Network Center and longtime Kearny resident, succumbed to an illness and died Saturday, hospital officials have announced. She was 53. Delikat began her work with Jersey City Medical Center - Barnabas Health in 1987, responding to several disasters with JCMC EMS including, 9/11, the 1996 NJ Transit commuter train collision, the 2003 Northeast blackout, the 2009 "Miracle on the Hudson" landing, and Hurricane Sandy, JCMC officials said.
