    A Hennepin County judge denied a request by Barway Collins' father to say goodbye to the son he's accused of murdering. Pierre Collins, 33, asked through his attorney Thursday to be taken by law enforcement officers to visit Barway's body at a funeral home before the boy's memorial service Saturday.

    For a while in the summer of 2007, John Dawson and Andrew Rice, who were both 15 then, rode 1,183.2 miles from Missoula, Mont., to Minneapolis, Minn., on bicycles. They were part of the "10th Gear Christian Youth Cyclists," and their cross-country expedition was to raise money for muscular dystrophy.
