    The Pipestone Area softball team improved to 10-2 on the season with a Big South Conference sweep of the Luverne Cardinals Thursday evening in Luverne. The Arrows claimed Game 1 at 16-1 in five innings and followed with a 12-2 victory in Game 2. The Edgerton/Southwest Christian softball team improved to 13-1 on the season with an 11-1 Red Rock Conference victory over the Mountain Lake Area Wolverines Tuesday evening.

    U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar visited Pipestone County Medical Center last Wednesday on a two-day sweep through southwest Minnesota that included stops in Chandler, Luverne, Worthington, Jackson, Fairmont and Lewisville. The focus of the DFL senator's tour was to highlight her agenda specific to workforce training; boosting science, technology, engineering, and math education; improving infrastructure; and strengthening rural health care.
