What was meant to be a fun ride turned deadly for 61-year-old Ron Meador of Lafayette last Saturday, May 16. Meador, founder of the Lafayette Laundry, and a companion, Angela Cole were riding on an ATV four-wheeler near Long Creek Road and Max Roark Road, just over the Tennessee/Kentucky state line around 5:30 p.m. "From what I understand, a passerby heard cries for help coming from the woman, so they went to a nearby residence to call 911, since they couldn't get cell service in the area," said Allen County Sheriff Jeff Cooke. That 911 call went to Macon County, who in turn contacted Allen County authorities. Comment?
