    Man dies after falling through ice on Keystone Lake ...

    A man died today after he fell through ice on Keystone Lake while ice fishing, state police at the Kittanning barracks said. James J. Whitlinger, 56, of Avonmore had been drilling holes in the ice about -mile south of the Atwood boat launch on Keystone Lake in Cowanshannock, Armstrong County, about 7:50 a.m. when he fell through, state police said.

    Gamblers went back to pumping more money into Video Lottery Terminals at the Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course last month. After slight dip in the previous month, the Ohio Lottery Commission reported on Wednesday that $68,889,111 in credits were played on the 866 VLT's at the venue during December.

    Crews from neighboring communities were called out shortly after noon when someone reported an occupied house fire on the 300 block of Denman Avenue. Firefighters quickly got control of the blaze which broke out in the attached garage.

    Car crash in Warren leaves hundreds without power

    Shortly before 1 p.m. a vehicle rammed into a telephone pole along Burton Avenue Northeast, causing damage to the power lines and transformer. Crews remained on the scene repairing downed lines and the transformer in an attempt to restore power to the remaining 200 customers.
