    With a year of fishing experience under his belt, 8-year-old Tyler Bristol of Clemmons reeled in the catch of a lifetime - a lifetime sportsman license courtesy of the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission and Neuse Sport Shop of Kinston.

    In 1912, William Lafayette Kennedy, a former captain in the Confederate Army, and his wife, Emily Hardee Kennedy, gave their 1,200 acre plantation in Kinston to Baptist Children's Homes of North Carolina in order for it to be used to care for children.
