    Suspect in fatal shooting of Orlando Walker arraigne...

    Kenneth Dwayne Langston, 25, is charged with one count each of open murder, assault with intent to commit murder and firearm possession by a felon, and three counts of felony firearm in the July 6 shooting death of 30-year-old Orlando Walker. At his arraignment Tuesday in Kalamazoo County District Court, Langston told Judge Tiffany A. Ankley he's seeking a private attorney with the help of his father and denied having anything to do with Walker's killing.

    Sam Herald, news reporter at 590 WKZO radio, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2015, at Bronson Hospital. He was 31. Sam began his radio career at WIDR, Western Michigan University's student-run station, and had worked at WKZO for several years.

    Jurors who will decide the fate of a Kalamazoo man charged with killing his 2-year-old son began their deliberations Wednesday afternoon. Brian Keith Roberts, 41, is charged with felony murder, second-degree murder and first-degree child abuse in the death of Nehemiah Dodd.

    The Kalamazoo Regional Educational Service Agency is seeking applications to fill the board vacancy created by the death of board President Jim Harrington , who passed away Tuesday, March 17. Application forms for interested individuals are available at the KRESA administration building, 1819 E. Milham Road in Portage, or online at www.kresa.org . The KRESA board oversee the operations for KRESA, which provides countywide programs and services for the nine school districts based in Kalamazoo County.
