    Body pulled from Des Plaines River in Joliet

    The person, an unidentified male, was pronounced dead at 4:15 p.m. after being found in the water near the Des Plaines River boat launch in the 700 block of Railroad Street in Joliet, according to the Will County coroner's office. One person was killed and at least 14 others were wounded in shootings since 4:30 p.m. Friday, according to police.

    Lemont Woman, 53, Made 'Everyone Around Her Smile'

    Sandra Cody, 53, of the Lemont/Plainfield area, died peacefully with family by her side while her favorite music was playing softly in the background, Monday evening, April 6. She was born May 14, 1961 to Mary Alice and the late Patrick Moore. She will be deeply missed, yet never forgotten by her many friends and very grateful family including her husband, Scott Cody; son, Kenton; daughters, Megan and Dana; mother, Mary Alice Moore; partner, Julie Spadafora; siblings, Terry Foley, Mike Moore , Mary Pat Busher and Dennis Moore; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

    Betty L. Dowler, 76, passed away peacefully with her family by her side April 2, 2015, at RML Rehabilitation Center in Hinsdale. She is survived by her loving husband, Herbert W. Dowler Sr.; children, Pamela Taylor, Bernice Ambrose, Penny Wright, Herbert Dowler Jr. and Tracy Hylka; 13 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; three sisters, Freda Beha, Maxine Richards and Janet Sampson; one brother, George Rogers; sister-in-law, Cindy Rogers; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
