    Betty Louise of Chandler, IN, 93, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, December 7, 2014 after suffering a stroke on Nov. 23. She was born December 31, 1920 in Chicago to Thorvald Johnsen and Lena P. Sears and was raised by her aunt and uncle, Alex and Nell Taylor.     Former ESU football coach Jack Gregory dies

    John C. "Jack" Gregory, a 1952 East Stroudsburg State Teachers College graduate who later returned to lead his alma to 49 wins and two PSAC football championships in seven seasons, died last Thursday in suburban Philadelphia. Gregory, who was also a former member of the University Foundation Board and was inducted into the ESU Athletic Hall of Fame in 1983, led the Warriors to a 49-11-2 mark between 1959 and 1965, including an 18-1 record his final two seasons capped by an undfeated 10-0 season in 1965.

    Trial begins in cyclist's hit-and-run death

    As Houston police investigate a hit-and-run accident that claimed a bicyclist's life, an impromptu memorial to the young woman has appeared in Montrose where a driver left her mortally injured in the street. Chelsea Norman, 24, left her job at Whole Foods Market, 705 Waugh Drive, at 10:17 p.m. Dec. 1 and a couple minutes later was struck by an unknown vehicle in the 1600 block of Waugh Drive.
