    Hartford Firefighter Died After Tank Ran Out Of Air

    The office of the chief state medical examiner ruled Thursday that Hartford firefighter Kevin Bell died because his tank ran out of air while he was fighting a house fire on Blue Hills Avenue. Dr. James Gill, the chief medical examiner, has ruled Bell's death an accident caused by lack of "breathing gas."

    Hartford Firefighter Died Of Asphyxia

    The office of the chief state medical examiner has ruled that Hartford firefighter Kevin Bell's died last year of asphyxia while fighting a fire and the death was accidental. Bell, 48, was killed in a house fire 598 Blue Hills Ave. October 7, becoming the first city firefighter in 40 years to die in the line of duty.

    Miranda's Wife Testifies Against Him In Murder Trial

    On the third day of his trial for the killing of a 12-year-old Hartford girl, Pedro Miranda saw his wife take the witness stand as a prosecution witness. Norma Agosto, 46, told a Hartford Superior Court jury that Miranda told her he did not know Mayra Cruz, the girl he is accused of killing, or her mother, Norma Cruz.

    Fatal New Iberia crash victims identified

    The Iberia Parish Coroner's Office has identified the two men killed in a car accident early Friday as New Iberia residents Shaylin Thorne, 27, and Craig Webber, 29. Two men died last night in a single-vehicle crash in New Iberia that ended on the Center Street Elementary School playground. According to the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office, deputies responded about 1:30 a.m. to a crash in the 1600 block of Julia Street Deputies found that a vehicle drove through a fence on the Center Street Elementary School playground, struck a utility pole and veered onto the school's playground.
