Stoddard, and their three daughters, Amy Fuller and her husband Thomas Fuller of Northborough, Sara Graves and her husband Michael Graves of Shrewsbury, and Martha Pierson and her husband Scott Pierson of Shrewsbury, as well as four grandchildren, Mathew Graves, Emily Graves, Kyle Pierson, and Laura Pierson. She was predeceased by her sister, Vivian Wysocki of California, and her brother, Robert Burns of Connecticut.

    She made numerous contributions to the local community including being an active parishioner of St. Aloysius Church, delivering Meals on Wheels, providing transportation and aid to the elderly, and a was a longtime member of the Our Ladies Guild. Her most notable contribution to the community was the 35 years she served as school nurse in the New Canaan School System, including St. Aloysius, East School and Saxe Middle School before she retired in 1991.

    Hartford Firefighter Died After Tank Ran Out Of Air

    The office of the chief state medical examiner ruled Thursday that Hartford firefighter Kevin Bell died because his tank ran out of air while he was fighting a house fire on Blue Hills Avenue. Dr. James Gill, the chief medical examiner, has ruled Bell's death an accident caused by lack of "breathing gas."

    On the third day of his trial for the killing of a 12-year-old Hartford girl, Pedro Miranda saw his wife take the witness stand as a prosecution witness. Norma Agosto, 46, told a Hartford Superior Court jury that Miranda told her he did not know Mayra Cruz, the girl he is accused of killing, or her mother, Norma Cruz.
