    James Farrell, 82, died Sept. 10

    Born in New York City, he worked as a salesman for Levi Strauss & Co for more than 30 years. An avid fisherman he received his captain license in the early 1970s, running fishing charters for many years in Hampton Bays, N.Y. Upon retirement, he continued fishing and skiing, working in Ridgewood at the Grand Union Grocery Store and at The Valley Hospital.

    Marvel Comics artist Stan Goldberg dies at 82

    Artist Stan Goldberg, a linchpin of Marvel Comics' rise in the 1960s and a stalwart of Archie Comics for 40 years, died Sunday at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx following a stroke on Aug. 13. He was 82, and had homes in Hampton Bays and Queens.
