    Thieves took a Christmas tree that Brooklyn Fowler and her family placed on the grave of Christian Jose Lopez of Greenville, South Carolina, on Sunday, Nov. 30, 2014. Christian was hit by a car on Nov. 25 and died two days later.

    Boy, 8, dies after being hit by car in Greenville

    Authorities say an 8-year-old boy who was hit by a car as he crossed the street in Greenville after church has died in the hospital. Greenville County Coroner Parks Evans told local media outlets that Christian Jose-Lopez died Thursday afternoon at Greenville Memorial Hospital, two days after he was struck by the car.

    On Tuesday, a group of lung cancer survivors gathered at the new St. Francis Cancer Center at the Millennium Campus in Greenville for the inaugural lung cancer support group meeting. The founder of the group, Dan Powell, said he decided to start the group after his diagnosis of Stage IV Lung Cancer.
