    Mary Warzecka of Folsom and longtime resident of Davis, passed away peacefully from cancer on Jan. 25, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Grand Rapids, Mich., on Aug. 20, 1954, Mary was a loving wife, mother, sister and a friend to many.

    Back in the early 1990s, Grand Rapids detectives had promising leads on who might have beaten Joel Battaglia and left him lifeless along an Eastown street. The evidence lacking back then came together in a Grand Rapids courtroom Tuesday, Jan. 20 as Marshall's brother, 56-year-old Aurelias Marshall, was ordered to stand trial on an open murder charge.

    Autopsy results for 81-year-old Casey Wybenga were inconclusive and a medical examiner is waiting for authorities to find and interview the person of interest in the investigation before making a ruling on the manner of death. Wybenga, a Wyoming resident and former Grand Rapids restaurant owner, was found dead Tuesday, Dec. 30, by a worker at America's Best Value Inn, 777 Three Mile Road NW in Walker.

"I realized he had a lot of friends, but I had no idea it impacted the community this much," said Debbie Myers, who took care of Jerry for many years.
