    Mother lured by 'social worker' found dead, newborn ...

    A mother who was lured away from her Indiana home by a woman claiming to be a child welfare worker has turned up dead, her body wrapped in plastic and covered with bleach, investigators said. Samantha Fleming and her newborn child disappeared April 5 after a woman came to her home, claimed to be a welfare worker, and persuaded her to leave.

    Woman stabbed to death in Gary

    Samantha J. Fleming, 23, was pronounced dead at 2:31 a.m. in the 1900 block of Cleveland Street in Gary, Ind., according to a statement from the Lake County, Ind., coroner's office. Fleming, of the 0-100 block of Claire Street in Anderson, Ind., had suffered stab wounds and her death was ruled a homicide, the coroner's office said.

    Man dies at NW Indiana machinery plant

    A 59-year-old man from northwest Indiana died Friday afternoon in an accident at a machinery plant in Gary. Ricky Glenn Oliver suffered blunt force trauma and was pronounced dead at 3:35 p.m. at the plant at 2601 E. 15th Ave. in Gary, according to a statement from the Lake County coroner's office.
