    Jerry Emmerling, 85, of Anderson, passed away Saturday, Nov. 08, 2014, at Rawlins House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Pendleton. She was born Aug. 18, 1929, in Rhea Co., Tenn., to the late William and Elizabeth Spurling.

    Nellie J. DeArmand, Edinburgh

    Our beloved sister, aunt and friend Nellie J. DeArmand, born July 28, 1941, went home to be with our Lord on Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer. Nellie, a well-known figure in Edinburgh, was a first-grade teacher at East Side Elementary School for more than 30 years.

    George M. Pape, 75, passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, Oct. 28. He was born and raised in Chicago, Ill., the son of Harry and Katiena Pape, and had lived in Sterling since 1977. He leaves two daughters, Cynthia L. Chadwick and her husband, Richard, of Shrewsbury and Gigi Schmutzer and her husband, Chris, of LaCresenta, Calif.; a son, Edward H. Pape of Rutland; a brother, Carl H. Pape of Mission Viejo, Calif.; 10 grandchildren, Kristi, Jennifer, Melanie, Eric, Katelynn, Meghan, Matthew, Jasmine, Stephen and Jessica; five great-grandchildren, Evan, Carlie, Katherine, Chole and Dean; nephews, nieces and his cat, Big Willy.

    Marilyn L. Armstrong, Nineveh

    Marilyn is survived by children, Michael D. Armstrong and Timothy R. Armstrong, both of Nineveh, and Laura Beth Rust of Greenwood; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two nieces. She worked over the years as a piano teacher and a secretary for attorney offices and was employed by the U.S. Postal Service.
