    Lower Greenville exhibit asks all to share bucket list

    A temporary art exhibit on a wall of the EZ Pawn shop on Greenville Avenue encourages visitors to consider what they want to accomplish before they die. The four 8-by-8 panels on a wall are part of the "Before I Die a " interactive global art project, which invites people to write down their bucket list aspirations in a public space.

    Bruce Alger, controversial Dallas congressman in '50...

    Bruce Alger, a provocative Republican congressman from Texas whose staunch conservative views prefigured the tea party movement decades later, and whose angry confrontation with Lyndon Johnson may have affected the outcome of the 1960 presidential election, died April 13 at an assisted living facility in Palm Bay, Fla. He was 96. Alger was elected to the U.S. House in 1954 from a district that included Dallas, which was long considered a cauldron of extreme right-wing views.

    Cathy Coughlin, the AT&T global marketing executive who launched the "It Can Wait" campaign against texting while driving, died Thursday at her home in Dallas after a battle with pancreatic cancer. During her 35-year corporate career, Coughlin rose from an entry-level manager to senior executive vice president and global marketing officer - a position she held until earlier this month when she was appointed to a special project.

    Dallas theater patrons who have fallen in love with the long-running I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change , have musical director, pianist and actor William Terrell Dobson Jr. to thank for bringing it to Theatre Three 15 years ago. Dobson, called Terry by friends, died Thursday of an infection, following a perforated ulcer and weakened immune system, in Mount Sinai-Roosevelt Hospital in New York.

    Last person identified in fiery Fort Worth crash

    Claudia Barraza, 37, of Fort Worth was pronounced dead at 2:50 a.m. Sunday at the scene of the collisions on Interstate 30 near Oakland Boulevard, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner's office. Police have said that after a BMW driver struck a concrete barrier in the center of the highway, other motorists stopped to help.

    On a late Monday night in 2013, police pulled over Brian Michael Hunter for making an unsafe lane change. He was arrested on old warrants and taken to the City Detention Center, which is run by the City Marshal's Office, and placed in solitary confinement.
