    The nation begins observing Memorial Day next weekend, but on Friday local ceremonies were part of National Peace Officers' Memorial Day. A ceremony at Memorial Park honored the 30 law enforcement officers in the Pikes Peak region who have died in the line of duty since 1895.

    A Colorado Department of Transportation employee died in a crash that involved four vehicles on US 50 at Monarch Pass Friday. It's the first time since 2009 that a CDOT employee has died while working.
