    Event raises awareness for domestic violence

    Deputy Peggy Macias said the "Remember My Name" event was first brought to Montgomery County in October 2013, during Domestic Violence Awareness month, to Kenwood High School in memory of assistant principal Pam Cooper, who was killed by her ex-husband. This year's event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today Civic Hall in Veteran's Plaza on Pageant Lane.

    William David - Bill' Miller Sr.

    William David "Bill" Miller Sr., 52, Hollidaysburg Veterans Home, formerly of Williamsburg, went home to be with his Lord unexpectedly Monday afternoon at the home. Surviving are his parents of Williamsburg; a son, Brad of Louisville, Ky.; a brother, Dwayne of Clarksville, Tenn.; a sister, Rebecca of Williamsburg; a niece, Chelsi Brashears of Clarksville, Tenn.; two nephews: Robert Miller serving in the Armed Forces in Wahiawa, Hawaii, and Joseph Miller of Clarksville, Tenn.; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and caregivers and staff of the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home.
