    In very sad news, former Sabres defenseman Steve Montador has passed away at the age of 35. His issues with concussions and depression had been documented in the past, although a cause of death has not been released yet. The news was first reported by TVA's Renaud Lavoie , but quickly expanded upon by The Mississauga News .

    Former NY Governor Mario Cuomo Dies at 82

    The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday that Mario Cuomo, the three-time governor of New York who turned down several invitations to seek the U.S. presidency, has died at the age of 82. The circumstances of his death, which came on the day that his son, Andrew Cuomo, delivered inaugural speeches in Manhattan and Buffalo for his own second term as governor, were not immediately clear.
