    THOMAS VARNADOE, 13 BROOKSVILLE - Thomas Varnadoe, 13, of Brooksville, Florida, died on October 26, 1934, in Marianna, Florida. He died under suspicious circumstances after 34 days of incarceration at the now closed Florida Industrial School for Boys, aka The Arthur G. Dozier School for Boys.

    Man guilty of additional charges in chase that kille...

    An Ocala man who led law enforcement on a chase that killed Hernando County Sheriff's Office Deputy John Mecklenburg in July 2011 pleaded guilty last week to aggravated fleeing and eluding law enforcement. Michael Anthony, who is already serving a mandatory life sentence on a slew of charges related to the July 3, 2011 chase through Hernando, Pasco and Pinellas counties, pleaded guilty to aggravated fleeing and eluding in Pasco on Oct. 20. Circuit Court Judge Debra Roberts sentenced him to 30 years in prison.
