    Roena L. Wendt

    BATAVIA – Roena L. Roggeman Wendt, 70, of Batavia, passed away peacefully at 11 p.m. Monday, Dec. 8, 2014, at Seasons Hospice in Naperville. She was the beloved wife of Andrew A. Wendt; loving mother of Robert C. Wendt, David M. Wendt, and Natalie J. Wendt; dearest grandmother of six grandchildren, Teyla, Samantha, Eryn, Sophia, Emily, and Jacob, and stepgranddaughter, Morgan Laporte; loving sister of Alfred C. Roggeman and Carol J. Maday; and loving aunt of Peter Roggeman, Steven Roggeman, Sherry Maday Linquist, and Kathy Roggeman Powell.

    Longtime Batavia businessman Joe Marconi, 88, died on Thursday, Dec. 4. He owned several downtown Batavia properties. He was an advocate for better streets, wider sidewalks and other amenities to improve and beautify downtown Batavia.
